Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Carles Fernández Prades received the MS and PhD (cum-laude) degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) in 2001 and 2006 respectively. In 2001 he joined the Department of Signal Theory and Communication at UPC. In 2003, he became the technical manager at UPC for an European Space Agency's research related to the search and rescue service to be included in Galileo. He was Teaching Assistant in the field of Analog and Digital Communications (UPC 2001-2005). In 2006 he joined the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC), where he currently holds a position as a Research Associate and the Coordination of the Communications Subsystems Area. During the second semester of 2007 he was a Visiting Lecturer at Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana (UTEM), Santiago, Chile. His primary areas of interest include statistical and array signal processing, estimation theory, GNSS synchronization, digital communications, and design of RF front-ends.
